As an award-winning audio and print journalist based in Taipei,
I cover current affairs in Taiwan for NPR, The World from PRX, The China Project and several other international media outlets.
Born in Mumbai, India, I grew up in the United States. I have also lived in France.
I started my journalism career in Chicago, working with the local NPR station on a daily global affairs talk show called Worldview.
At that time, I also pursued a fellowship with the local newsroom City Bureau, where my team won several awards for our investigative reporting into racialized disparities in home mortgage lending.
I joined NPR as its second-ever Reflect America Fellow and then worked as a producer at the network’s flagship news show, All Things Considered.
For the past three years, I’ve been based in Taipei, covering Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region.
